A bud to bloom, apple of your eyes
A blessing I was called, sent from skies.
Daughter of Eve I was, you said:
Heavens couldn’t bear my little cries.
A gift of my presence was to this world,
Then why do I sit with its rubble on my head?
My tears slip and fall on this sacred land.
Oh tell me world, how much I've bled!
Oh people, look at the state of me!
Bathed in blood, in the ruins I’m stuck.
In the healing grip of my mother’s arms,
My world fell apart as the missile struck.
Oh mother, what silenced your lullabies?
Look I am not yet put to sleep.
Oh this merciless gush of blood!
Come see how much my wounds are deep.
Do I even have to suppress my sighs?
As the dust and smoke is filling my chest?
I called to the world in a million sobs!
Now I call my God to plan my best.
Tell me Lord, did I pass my test?
My hands are small, but I held on tight,
To the shreds of hope that scattered around
For I knew my reward is big and bright.
My cries went tearing across the skies
Oh here they come, those angel wings!
My arms outstretched, just take me away!
I belong to the heaven of birds and springs.
