Getting ready in the morning can be a chaotic rush, especially when it comes to deciding what outfit to wear and ensuring that you are on time for work. For many, the challenge lies in making the most of their clothing strategy without sacrificing style or sophistication.
My biggest problem in the morning was deciding about what clothes to wear. Every day, I would wake up and spend so much precious time thinking of the perfect outfit. I am a very indecisive person so it got more and more difficult to choose clothes in a such a short time. After realizing that I had an issue, which caused the embarrassment of always getting late for work, I decided it was finally time for me to come up with some sort of a solution. Let us discuss my personal experience as I battled with early morning time constraints and how I solved the problem in a workable way, so maybe you can find some helpful tips to make your mornings less chaotic!
Plan Your Attire Ahead of Time
For me, arranging my clothes the night before was a game-changer. I felt less stressed in the morning when I took a few minutes in the evening to choose and arrange my clothes for the next day. By making this tiny change, I was able to avoid wasting time staring into my wardrobe and piling my clothes on the bed in the quest for the perfect outfit, and instead begin my day with a clear focus on the responsibilities at hand. Organize your shawls, dupattas, etc., and other particular accessories beforehand so that you spend as little time looking for them as possible.
Put Your Closet in Order
One of the biggest reasons for the delay in the morning routine is an unorganized closet. I spent a whole weekend organizing my closet, throwing out items that I seldom used and carefully placing the items in the closet. Sorting my items by kind and color gave me a better idea of what I could wear, which made me choose the outfits faster.
Time-Saving Wardrobe Essentials
I planned forth to put together a range of flexible, mix-and-match wardrobe essentials. I found it simpler to put together fashionable looks fast when I had the basics in my closet sorted, like neutral shirts, well-fitting pants, and shoes that looked professional but were still comfortable. Timeless and adaptable items help create a polished, put-together style while also saving time.
Minimalist Wardrobe
I made the switch to a minimalist wardrobe, motivated by the minimal approach. This meant reducing the number of garments in my collection to a carefully chosen assortment of elegant yet functional pieces. I discovered that having fewer options made it simpler for me to decide swiftly and easily. Having a minimalist wardrobe promotes both environmentally friendly fashion practices and saving time.
Make the Most of Technology
To simplify my morning routine, I incorporated the use of technology in my daily routine. I used my smartphone to plan wardrobes and organize my clothing items by setting up a digital wardrobe app. I was able to make well-informed judgments quickly thanks to the virtual assistant’s detailed review of my clothing and suggested pairings based on my tastes. There are multiple apps for the wardrobe planning, e.g., Cladwell, Stylebook, Chicisimo, Closet+, etc.
Sort Your Accessories
One of the most frustrating things in life is having to deal with knotted jewelry, but it’s infinitely more annoying in the morning when you’re racing against time. Imagine waking up in the morning hoping to finish off your outfit with the ideal accessory, only to find yourself staring at a confusing jigsaw of pieces. A straightforward but efficient way to avoid this accessory dilemma is to keep your accessories well-separated from one another. Keeping your accessories neatly organized and put away in their proper places/boxes not only keeps your jewelry untangled but also simplifies your morning routine.
Establish a Routine
A morning routine that is reliable can make a big difference in terms of time management. I scheduled specific times for various tasks so I would have enough time to get dressed without feeling hurried. I feel in charge of my morning routine by giving a fixed amount of time to each task.
Likewise, it is advisable to prepare the purse or bag the night before. Ensure that you have your phone, wallet, keys, and any other necessary paperwork for the day. This helps save time.
Select Easy Hair and Makeup Looks
Makeup and hair may be a major time guzzler in the morning for a lot of people. I chose low-key cosmetic looks and easy-to-maintain haircuts. This helped me to achieve a sleek and natural look, while also reducing the overall time that I needed to get ready in the mornings.
Adopt Multitasking
You can multitask while getting ready. If you like to catch the news in the morning but do not have a lot of time, then you can always listen to a podcast while you are doing your hair and makeup.
Engage in Mindfulness Practice
It is important to be attentive and avoid scrolling through social media while getting ready. Focus on the task at hand.
By keeping my closet organized, pre-planning my outfits, creating a versatile wardrobe, utilizing technology, establishing a morning routine, and simplifying my beauty routine, I was able to save time and regain control over my mornings as I dressed for work. I hope it works for you too.
